It breathes in the water with its gills as other fish do. As sharks swim water passes through their mouth and is pushed through their gills. The gills filter the oxygen out of the water. Gills are the organ through which fish breathe.

3. Most sharks, like most fishes, are cold-blooded, or ectothermic.

Mammals are warm-blooded animals. Mammals drink milk from their mothers.
